What do Mothers want this Mother's Day?
Share
The origins of Mother's Day date back to the late 19th century. In 1872, Anna Jarvis was inspired by her mother's death and began a campaign to honor mothers on the second Sunday in May. The idea caught on quickly and soon spread across America, with states passing laws establishing official holidays for mothers.
In 1908 President Theodore Roosevelt signed legislation making Mother's Day an official holiday throughout the United States (and later Canada). Today, it remains one of our most popular annual celebrations--and one that has spread around the world!
