  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp  Russian Mulling Spice
  • 1 tsp Orange Vanilla Sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, and Russian Mulling Spice and Orange Vanilla Sugar. In a separate large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the molasses and egg to the butter and sugar mixture, and beat until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes. Place the cut-out cookies onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little space between each cookie. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
