You’ll Need to Provide

  • ½ cup warm whole or evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp melted unsalted butter (or vegetable shortening)
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)

Directions - To prepare the dough, start by whisking together the dough mix, orange vanilla sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and egg, and whisk them until blended. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a shaggy dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a warm, damp towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
