This rustic Mortar and Pestle was made in the Dominican Republic.

 

 Mortars and pestles anticipate modern blenders and grinders and can be described as having the function of small, mobile, hand-operated mills that don't require electricity or fuel to operate.

 

 

 

**Crack on base and top. Mortar also has a split piece broken off on one side (shown in pictures).

This blend is a wonderful addition to any oriental recipes, but don’t stop there! Rub into fish or poultry. Use it in baking or to give a new twist to your salad dressing. It's also a great way to get creative with cranberries!
