Savory Pumpkin and Herb de Provence Pizza: A Unique Autumn Delight

Indulge in the warm and comforting flavors of autumn with our unique pumpkin pizza recipe. This unconventional twist on a traditional favorite combines creamy pumpkin puree with aromatic Herb de Provence, creating a savory masterpiece that will tantalize your taste buds. With a cheesy mozzarella and Parmesan topping, as well as the option to customize with toppings like caramelized onions or crispy prosciutto, this pizza is a delightful fusion of seasonal ingredients and Mediterranean flair. Perfect for cozy nights in or fall gatherings, this pumpkin and Herb de Provence pizza is sure to become a new seasonal favorite.

  • 1 full package Dough Mix  (We have recently7 made a change to the packaging - if your mix has 2 bags, halve the ingredients for 1 of the 2 small packages.)
  • 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water (more if the dough seems to dry)
  • 1 tbsp  Olive Oil        

Dissolve yeast and in water, allow to rest for 8 minutes. Pour yeast mixture over flour mixture and combine well with a heavy spoon. Turn dough on to a floured surface and knead for 2 minutes. Cut dough in half for an 18” pan and thirds for a 12 inch pan. Working from edges to center, press dough into a circle. Place dough on lightly greased pizza pan and stretch dough to edges.

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil        
  • 2 cups thinly sliced raw pumpkin        
  • 1 small onion sliced    
  • 2 cups arugla    
  • 2 tbsp Herbs de Provence
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese    
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese        
  • 1/4 lb prosciutto

Preheat your oven to 500 f. Smear olive oil over the dough. Sprinkle pumpkin, onion, arugula and Herb de Provence evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the pumpkin layer, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese. Top of the cheese with proscuitto.

Place the pizza in the preheated oven for 10 min or until your the cheese is melted and bubbly. Once the pizza is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
