Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients
    Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.

  2. Add Wet Ingredients
    Add warm water and softened butter. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

  3. Knead
    Turn onto a floured surface and knead 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with dough hook for 5 minutes).

  4. First Rise
    Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 45-60 minutes until doubled in size.

  5. Shape
    Punch down dough and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased 9"x5" loaf pan.

  6. Second Rise
    Cover and let rise 30-40 minutes until dough rises about 1 inch above the pan rim. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F.

  7. Bake
    Bake 30-35 minutes until golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped (internal temperature should reach 190°F).

  8. Cool & Store
    Remove from pan immediately and cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Once completely cooled, transfer to your bread bag!

Baker's Tip: Store your bread in this breathable bag at room temperature for up to 4 days. The cotton weave keeps it fresh without the sogginess or mold that plastic bags cause. For longer storage, slice and freeze in portions.
