Cranberry Herb Cornmeal Scones
CRANBERRY HERB CORNMEAL SCONES - A love of adventure sometimes it gets me in trouble, but more often than not it brings fortune. Taking the road less traveled I found myself hopelessly lost on a wet and windy day. My search for Blarney Castle brought me to a village where I sought out a pub for directions. It was a warm and cozy haven full of cheerful locals. They encouraged me to stay for a bite to eat, a dram of something amber, and a session of folk songs. Touched by their gift of eloquence that afternoon, my crusade to kiss a stone ended with the enjoyment of the cook’s magical Savory Scones served with slices of warm ham and their aged local cheddar. This simple meal was the stuff of legends.
Kraft Tube (10oz.) INGREDIENTS: Wheat Flour (enriched), Coarse Ground Corn Meal, Craisins, Herbs de Provence, Baking Soda, Kosher Salt. Just Add Milk, Beer, and Butter.
Preheat oven to 425 f. Empty the contents of this bag into a large bowl along with
1 tsp Turkey Trimmings
(the secret ingredient).
Add 3/4 Cup Milk to
1 Tbsp Beer
allow to sit for 10 min.
Using knives or a pastry blender, cut 1/2 Cup Butter
into the dry ingredients. It should look like pebbles. Fold in Milk mixture refrigerate for at least 1 hour. For country style scones line a baking pan with parchment and drop large spoon fulls 2 inches apart. For gentrified scones pour into greased muffin pans and bake for 20 to 25 min. or until a cake tester comes out clean and the tops are golden brown. This mix makes approx 1/2 dozen oversized scones.
