VINTAGE COVERED WAGON LAMP
View full details
Beginning in the 1840's American settlers were pushing westward at an astounding rate. Each family required hundreds of pounds of food and supplies, and the "Prairie Schooner," named for its white covering's resemblance to a ship's sail from a distance, was the best way to transport everything. The oiled cover on the wagon protected all of a family's belongings from the elements as they made the arduous journey west.
This vintage covered wagon lamp will fit right into your collection of Western Americana. The lightbulb is activated by pushing down on the wagon tongue. The cover, or "bonnet," has been replaced, but the remainder of the original parts are in great condition.
Measures 12"L x 8 1/4"H x 6 1/4"W (16"L with wagon tongue out)
